• Possesses outstanding credentials for doctoral study in education programs
• Enrolled in a doctoral degree program in preparation to be faculty in a College of Education or professional development school
• Member of one of the ethnic minority groups or other underrepresented group, including people with exceptionalities in the education professoriate
• Demonstrates a commitment to equity and diversity within education
• Agrees to meet the Holmes Scholars^® expectations
